Threshold Details
The term "threshold" that we use on this website refers to the bottom section of the outer frame that you step over as you pass through the doorway.
You have a couple of options for your threshold. The standard PVCu frame can continue all around the door, providing the tightest and most thermally efficient weather seal possible. Alternatively, you can have a lowline aluminium threshold, which is designed to provide you with a hazard free entrance to your home.
Our low aluminium thresholds are manfactured to be as weather efficient as possible, however, the emphasis is on providing easy access to the elderly or wheelchair user.
All of our aluminium thresholds are Part M Compliant and available in both gold and silver finishes.

The MDS threshold is designed independantly from any PVC profile manufacturer by a specialist threshold company to provide a weather seal to rival that of any PVC threshold.
The threshold is designed to sit directly on to a hard surfaced step or floor and is ramped at the front for easy wheelchair access and to remove the risk of tripping.

The MWK threshold is designed to be fixed directly on to a cill. It has an integrated seal fixed under the door sash which, in conjunction with the fitted weather deflector, gives almost impregnable weather resistance whilst removing the risk of tread damage to the rubber seal itself.

This threshold is universal for our Profile22 door frames. It can be used on it's own sat directly on a stone floor, it can sit on a cill, or it can be turned around to become an open out door threshold.
The Lowline threshold is manufactured specifically for the Profile 22 composite door outer frame and has been extensively tested and developed by its manufacturer for excellent weather tightness.
The threshold is designed to be used in conjunction with a weather deflector.
